Painting list

Hi

Today I finally managed to gather all the models for my army in one place. Before they were scattered between my apartment, my office and our wargaming club. I took them all and picked the ones I'll need for few future tournaments. It's my last "biker" army with few adjustments. The whole list of models I'll need to play is:

1) Librarian on Bike (with axe) - assembled

2) Librarian on Bike (with axe)

3) Librarian on Bike (with axe)

4) Chapter Master on Bike (with fist and Shield Eternal) - half-way painted

5) Chapter Master on Bike (with fist and storm shield)

6) Apothecary on Bike

7) Veteran on Bike (with grav-gun) - assembled

8) Veteran on Bike (with grav-gun) - half-way painted

9) Veteran on Bike (with grav-gun) - assembled

10) Veteran on Bike (with grav-gun) - assembled

11) Scout Sergeant (with bolter)

12) Scout (with bolter)

13) Scout (with bolter)

14) Scout (with bolter)

15) Scout (with bolter)

16) Land Speeder Storm (with heavy flamer)

17) Scout Sergeant (with bolter)

18)  Scout (with bolter)

19) Scout (with bolter)

20) Scout (with bolter)

21) Scout (with bolter)

22) Drop Pod - half-way painted

23) Centurion Sergeant (grav-cannon)

24) Centurion (grav-cannon)

25) Centurion (grav-cannon)

26) Knight Crusader (battle cannon) - sculpting in progress

It may seem silly to write down each and every model I'll bring to the tournaments, but that's the only way to motivate myself to finish all those models. As you can see, there's a lot of work ahead of me :)

Knight taking shape

Hi! I've began to work on the armour of my Knight, and here are the results of first layer of green stuff:

The cultist I've painted earlier stands proudly on the base:

I'll have to finish this guy pretty fast and begin working on second one, the Crusader with some carapace weapons (with magnets).

Today I've played two games against Tyranids and Orks, and won both, without any big problems. The army based upon Bikers and Knight really kicks some ass!

Chaos army, and why GW sucks so badly?

I've been playing CSM since 2'nd edition, quite a long time. I love the fluff, I love the models, and I used to love to play them, untill the current dex... I've tried, many times, to build something out of it, but without the help from Daemons or Imperial Armour, that dex simply sucks. Even Tau, Orks and Dark Eldar are stronger than that :/

Therefore, I've built an army that allows me to use my CSM models, plus some extra I'll have to convert, but is also playable.

The army looks like this:

Space Marines CAD

+ Chapter Master (Artificer Armour, Power Fist, Bike, Shield Eternal)

+ Librarian (Lv.2, Force Axe)

+ 6 Bikers (2 Grav Guns, Sergeant has Melta Bombs)

+ 4 Bikers (2 Grav Guns, Sergeant has Melta Bombs)

+ Drop Pod

+ Stormtalon Gunship (TL Lascannon)

+ 3 Centurions (Grav-Cannons)

+ Thunderfire Cannon

Librarius Conclave

+ Librarian (Lv.2, Force Axe, Bike)

+ Librarian (Lv.2, Force Axe, Bike)

+ Librarian (Lv.2, Force Axe, Bike)

Oathsworn Detachment

+ Knight Errant (Twin Icarus Autocannon)

I'll have to convert Centurions, Stormtalon and Thunderfire Cannon, but most models I already am working on for my CSM force, like Bikers, Sorcerers aka. Librarians, etc.

Today I'm working on two models, so I've decided to show you some WiP pics:

My Knight Errant, I still have to finish the painting and sculpt the armour.

This guy (well, you can see his legs only) will be the Chapter Master for this rooster. I'll magnetize his right hand, so I'll be able to switch between shield and lighting claw.

Apocalypse!

Today in Gentelman's Club we played big battle (or small, when it comes to apo), 4x2500pts. All in all, me and Bartek managed to win (5:4), but it was very tough game. We faced various flyers, wolf-star, huge super-heavy tank and some drop-pods. Lots of fun to play this kind of game! Sadly, I forgot to take my camera, so only picture I have is taken with my phone:

Some new models done

Finally I had some time to paint few of my models, and as tomorrow we're having an Apocalypse Battle, I've decided to paint Be'Lakor. The thing is, it's never a good idea to start with such model after long break, so I took one of the Cultists that will be displayed on my Chaos Knight's base, and painted it to warm myself up.

Then, it came the time to paint the Daemon Prince himself. It took mi quite a few hours, but it's finally done:

As I've mentioned earlier, tomorrow we'll play a quite big battle. 4x2500pts, two armies of Space Wolves will face my Chaos and Bartek's Guard/Tau army.

I chose very simple list, built upon two detachments, Daemons CAD and Crimson Slaugher AD.

In Daemonic part, nothing new, four Heralds of Tzeentch, Kairos Fateweaver, 9 Screamers, 2x11 Horrors, and another unit of Screamers, six this time.

Only funny thing in this detachment is new Chaos Knight, which has some pretty interesting rules.

Second detachment, Crimson Slaughter, is led by Be'Lakor, then there are ten Cultists, Hell Blade and Vindicator with Maelstrom Rider upgrade, gaining him Outflank.

I'm still not sure what will be fielded by Bartek, I only know that he'll bring Baneblade tank. Therefore, I can only think about my army tactic for now. One of the very strong things in this list is that it's able to field a Knight, that has 2+ Invunerable Save, is invisible, has 4-6 attacks wile charging, and re-rolls number of stomps. Sounds very very nice! I'll try to let you know how it went tomorrow, but I might have not enough spare time. Till then!

Finally, my very own idea for army, and it works!

I must admit, I'm so so so excited. For quite a wile I used to play Screamerstar, which is great build, but there are two problems:

1) It's very vulnerable to loosing "who goes first" roll, expecially against armies with barrage weapons, like Thunderfire Cannon, Wyverns etc.
2) It's not my idea to put four Tzeentch heralds in big unit of Screamers, and I'd like to play something I figured out on my own.

So, I took two dexes, Imperial Knights and new Space Marines, and created this:

1850 Army

Space Marines AD:

HQ1: Chapter Master (Power Firs, Artificer Armour, Bike, Shield Eternal) - 245pts

Troops1: 3 Bikes (Grav Gun) - 78pts

Librarius Conclave:

Librarian (Force Axe, Bike, 2'nd Lv) - 110pts

Librarian (Force Axe, Bike, 2'nd Lv) - 110pts

Librarian (Force Axe, Bike, 2'nd Lv) - 110pts

Household Detachment:

LoW1: Knight Warden (Twin Icarus Autocannon) - 410pts

LoW2: Knight Errant - 370pts

LoW3: Knight Paladin (Stormreaper Rocket Pod) - 415pts

Today I had a chance to test this army for the first time, and I must say, it REALLY WORKS!

So, I have to finish ten models... Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics of my Knight Errant (Chaos Knight Errant, of course).

Till then!

Roll Snake Eyes!

Well, it's been 1,5 month since my last post, but I have a great explanation. We'd started a new YT channel about wargaming - ROLL SNAKE EYES.

Wargaming tips, painting and modeling tutorials, news and tournament reports all in one place. Please, subscribe and watch our videos. Feedback is always welcome, of course!

Apart from that, I've been playing quite a lot last month, trying to build a perfect army for 1850pts. Last time I wrote about my initial approach to this list, but now I'm able to tell you a bit more about tactics, and what I've decided to change in the army.

First thing first. Wile playing any kind of Screamerstar [1] you need Kairos Fateweaver. The reason is simple: two important re-rolls, one for the Grimoire of True Names, that may either boost the inv save by 2, or reduce it by one (from 5+ to 3+ or 6+ respectively). Therefore, you have 66,7% chance that the save will be boosted. With re-roll, you have 88,7% chance to get the boost, quite a big difference. Second re-roll is the re-roll for the daemonic chart of doom. If you roll, for example, "all daemons reduce their inv by 1", it may hurt really badly. With re-roll the risk is minimized.

So, in most of my games, army was build around Kairos, 4 Tzeentchian Heralds on Discs, 9 Screamers and two units of Horrors. I've experimented with Soul Grinders, Be'Lakor, Maulerfiend, Knight Errant, but all in all, the army was:
a) very fun to play
b) quite powerfull
c) very vulnerable to going second.
The last thing is really important. Screamerstar needs to go first. If you are second, your precious deathstar has nothing more than 4+ jink save against all your oponent will throw at you.

My latest list (again - 1850pts) is build on two detachments:

Chaos Daemons CAD:

Kairos Fateweaver

3 Daemonic Heralds of Tzeentch (Discs, 3'rd Lv. each, one with Exalted Reward, one with Locus of Conjuration)

3 Nurglings

11 Pink Horrors (with Iridescent Horror)

8 Screamers

Imperial Knights Oathsworn Detachment:

Knight Errant

Knight Warden (Gatling Cannon, Stormspear Rocket Pod)

As you can see, I had to cut my Screamerstar down in order to fit a second Knight. It may be wrong decission, after all, the more power dice the better, but having two Knights is quite a lot of power.

I'll try this army on monday, and hopefully share the results with you. Untill then, please visit our channel ROLL SNAKE EYES, and stay tuned!

[1] Screamerstar - unit build of Screamers and Heralds of Tzeentch on discs, one of Heralds must have Grimoire of True Names, and you need either 4+ Inv from Divination, or Cursed Earth. This way you may get Inv 2+ with re-roll (Tzeentch daemons re-roll save rolls of 1). Easy way to loose your friends :).
